Ivy leaves turning yellow....

...the hanging basket was quite dry so I assumed it was that. I have kept it more moist for a few weeks but now even more leaves are turning yellow (with black spots) It's in there with a small Lavender and a pink alpine of some kind. Lavender and alpine have never looked better. Could it be a space issue i.e. the ivy wants it's own place now? Your help and advice, as always, much appreciated.

There are small variegated ivies which will be fine, but not that one! I'd take it out and replace with something more appropriate.
The yellow leaves are standard - all ivies drop leaves. It'll still be hard to kill

That one would be a monster if allowed, so just be wary.
If you look in GCs or even diy stores etc, you'll get some little variegated ivies which are ideal for pots and troughs. The foliage is very small on them, and they behave differently from the big, house covering types - which is what you have, by the look of it.
Not stupid at all - it's always easy to be fooled by plants when they're just starting out, if you don't have the necessary info on variety. Hopefully you can find something more suitable for your basket

If the other plants they're in with are thriving, I wouldn't worry too much, but you'll just have to judge it as time goes on. You can always hack them back a bit if they're getting too keen on world domination.
At least when they're in a container, it's not too difficult to take everything out and remove the ivy, then replant the other plants.
