Tomato Plants
Hi all, I'm new to growing veg until lockdown period so had a go at growing tomato plants.. they are looking good but at what stage do I stop nipping out the side shoots? around 1.5 m tall at the moment.
Thanks in advance

Just keep nipping them out and eventually, when you have the plants at the height you want [usually when they're about five to six trusses in height, or around five or six feet] you should be fine. If they keep producing more, just keep removing them as well as you can. They will often keep producing a few after eventually 'stopping' the plant at the height you want, but just remove those as well.
The overall height also just depends on what variety you have, and what support you have in place for the plant. There was a thread yesterday regarding that, as some people had Gardener's Delight toms reaching over 2 metres, and they were struggling because they were just too big!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
All side shoots are removed from the plant regardless of height.
Then it depends on where you're growing your tomatoes,
If you're growing them outside, once 4-5 trusses of fruits have formed, nip out the top of the plant.
If you're growing them in a greenhouse, then nip the top out once 6-7 trusses of fruits have formed.
This is done so that the tomatoes will ripen in the UK before the cold weather sets in and the plants stop growing
Good luck
