Heuchera problem

This 2 year old plant’s leaves have started to dry up around the edges - can anyone advise what may be the cause (I water  it regularly) & what can I do to help it recover?

Have you checked the pot for Vine Weevil?

  • Do as Madpenguin says. Try gently lifting the plant up - you will probably find it has no roots and comes away easily. Heucheras can look like this for a long time after the grubs have chewed the roots.

They regularly get fried round the edges, even if no weevils are present. Just remove those leaves - it'll constantly produce new ones.
There's a lot of competition in that pot for water though Hebe, Ivy and primroses.

They also push themselves out of the ground - which is what yours is doing. If you remove it and pot it up itself, it'll probably do better. Shady site as well to prevent it drying out too much.  :)

Last year I had a beautiful Heuchera 'Solar Eclipse'.Towards the end of the summer it seemed to suddenly droop and I was able to lift the whole plant out of the pot and there was not a single root! How it managed to put on such a display I really don't know.

I think I would take the Ivy out of the pot as it could be taking all the nutrients and then give the heuchera a good feed and see what happens.
