In my local gardening group we have several people whose Gardeners' Delight tom plants are exceeding two metres tall. They are struggling to find ways to support them in their pots, esp in high winds. These are people new to gardening and would like to find easy ways to manage. @GemmaJF Right and @Pete.8 To promote healthy growth and prolong the life of your plant - lop them off. Yes, they grow laterals - they can be cut off too. Keep 'em lean and mean!!
