Potato Seeds

Good Morning , I've been growing seed potatos for quite some time now , but there is always something that baffles you occassionly . First earlies Maris Bard planted in April one plant has devoloped seed pods , which I'm told is very rare . I realise I have to get rid of these pods , my question is though can I still eat the tubers , it might sound silly but I have never experienced this before ,your help would be appreciated

Yes, the tubers will be perfectly fine.  The tomato-like fruits are toxic though and the main reason for removing them is to direct the plants' energy into reproducing by tubers rather than seed.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    But...

True seeds are subject to genetic variation so if you planted them and discover a new variety of potato with all sorts of beneficial properties, you will get to name it!
