Problems with hydrangea flowers

The flowers on my Hydrangea are not growing properly and then they just go brown and drop off.  I've not had this problem before.

    Probably inadequate moisture to push the buds into flowering properly. 
    If it's coupled with a sunny site, and not enough nutrients in the soil it's in, it becomes even more likely.
    If it's in a pot, all those issues are magnified several times.
    A photo would help if you can manage one  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Thanks for that.  Perhaps it was caused by the very hot spell that we had.  It flowered perfectly last year in the same spot (it's in the ground).  I'll give it a feed and keep an eye on it when (if) we next get decent weather!
