Weed or not a weed

Hi,
Could you confirm if this is a weed or not with black markings. I have been successfully growing annuals this year but I have my suspicions this is not a annual.
Have I been caught out here. :-)

It’s Redshank ... one of the persicaria family ... a common weed of newly disturbed soil.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
