Scabious fascination or not?

K67K67 Posts: 2,506
Trying to take photos in this wind today maybe not such a good idea but I bought 2 of the same plant last year ftom Secret Garden and this is the first time they have flowered.
The plant in photo 2 looks as I expected but the one on photo 1 is really tall and much paler with a collar of spikes. Have looked on Google to see if it's a different variety but can't find anything.
Any ideas please?

The plant with the spike flowers is a Veronica

Thanks @lyn but it's the pale blue shorter plants at the front not the veronicastrum

I can’t see anything wrong with the Scabious.

Don't doubt it's a scabious I was just puzzled as to why they look so different when they were sold as the same variety. My photos not that great as showing the difference.
