Tall climbing plant for large pot In shady wall.
I have a large tall pot by a gate on a North facing wall. I want something that will grow up to about 8ft and then across the fence but nothing seems to survive. Is there anything that will work in a pot?. Tried Jasmine, honeysuckle and even Russian Vine but they all seem to get to the top of the gate and lose the will. The Jasmine and Honeysuckle didn’t even make the top!. Do I just give up?. Thanks 🙏

When you say large, how large? The volume of soil it contains is the main factor. You'll need something at least 6o cm in each direction for any climber to do well.
Jasmines need sunny sites, and honeysuckles are never happy in pots.

Clematis Armandii, as Dove says, is an absolute no-no for a pot, it can be a monster.
