Help Ericaceous fed put on cornus

Last week i filled my 10 litre water can with what I thought was my comfrey feed about 1 litre but turns out my hubby has put ericaceous feed in similar bottles. I watered a newly planted cornus korus and I think it’s killing it as all the flowers have gone brown and leaves are drying up. It was beautifully healthy before this accident. Advice plse as cost a fortune and want to try and rescue thanks

Unlikely to have killed it  :)
A newly planted cornus at that size needs huge amounts of water, especially at this time of year, unless you live in an area of regular, persistent rainfall. Even then, a bucket of water  every other day,  would be needed.
It will shed foliage quite often until properly established. The grass nearby is a lot of competition for water too.

    Agree.
Much more likely to be shortage of water.

Cornus kousa are not fussy about acidity or alkalinity but do need plenty of water after planting and throughout the first summer until the autumn rains set in properly.   I agree with the others that it is thirsty.

It's far too close to that wall which will suck up moisture and it's also got all that grass competing.   I suggest you give it a seriously good drink of at least 10 litres.  While that soaks in clear a metre square of grass from the soil and then dig up and re-plant the cornus 2' out from the wall.   Water it well and keep the grass cleared and give it a full bucket of water two or three or even four times a week in hot weather, one or two in normal temps.
