    Can't help with that.  Never been a problem for me.

    I had bright lights chard in a large container and it did exactly as you are hoping . Lots of lush green leaves that were seemingly unaffected by the winter. I had a mix of red and yellow tulips that looked well mixed in come the spring.

     They were in a relatively sheltered spot so not sure how they might have done in harsher more exposed conditions. Might be worth giving it a go and worst case you lose some cheap plants.
