    According to the RHS, you can dig a hole at least 12" deep and bury the infected fruit, if you have too many to dispose of in other ways such as a council garden waste collection bin.  That makes sense as it is a fungi spread by spores released into the air from those grey spots you see on the affected fruit.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
