  Musk Beetle, Aromia moschata,
  
  It's a nice find, they are widespread in distribution in the UK, but not all that common. Early for it also, usually seen in July and August.

  Fabulous Gemma thank you.  I was reading in the garden and it landed on my hand and near freaked me out but I could see it was a special wee chap 😃

  Just reading about it and this might be female judging by the antennae length.
