Plant ID help please

Wild_VioletWild_Violet Posts: 221
Hi,
These plants have been coming up for the past 14 years in my front north facing garden.  They look exotic with their rolled back petals but I’m always glad when they die back as they smell like rotting flesh!
Sorry the photos are a bit useless but maybe the shape of the flowers and leaves will help. Flowers are yellow.
 Thanks  WV🥀

Lilium martagon ... the Turk’s Cap Lily

Ha! Thank you @Dovefromabove 😁 I thought it was some sort of lily but couldn’t find it online searching for “stinky yellow flowers.”  If they weren’t so happy in the front border I’d relocate them. Thanks again 🙏

How do you upload photos?  I can't see any facility anywhere?

It's the icon that looks like a mountain and sun in the corner.

I have martagon lilies on my wishlist for next year ......didn’t realise they smelled like dead 🐟

@chicky It’s  not a fishy smell - more like rotting meat!!!  I have a very strong sense of smell though and no one else in my household seems to notice it! They are cheerful flowers though so they are staying put. 😁

oh, that’s ok then .....rotting fish is so much worse than rotting flesh 🤣

When you go to add a new post, tap on the icon at the right end and then tap choose files then photo library. Just select photos from your camera roll.  That’s how I do it.😁
