JASMINE PROBLEM

I have a Jasmine growing in a pot. I look after it well watering & feeding etc. Over the last few weeks quite a lot of the leaves have turned a deep burgundy reddish colour and eventually drop off. The rest of the plant seems quite healthy.

Online answers result in conflicting opinions. Some say this is a normal occurrence for Jasmine but usually in the Autumn. Others say that the plant will eventually die and there are a lot more 'answers' in-between

Can anybody explain why this is happening?.

A picture would help but if it is a Tracleospermum,  the leaves tend to go red and drop off periodically.  It is an evergreen so there isn't an autumnal drop as there is for deciduous plants.
  • It wouldn't make sense to be a proper jasmine, Jasminum officinale.
