Fig tree sapling

Hi all,
I have three well established fig trees in my garden. Today I've noticed there's a sapling growing from the ground of one of them about 10cm high with leaves.
Does anybody know if I can cut it and propagate it? I know that the usual time to take cuttings to propagate in late autumn when tree is dormant.
