Can anyone identify the plants in this photo please?

    Certainly not a dahlia. Whatever it is, it's a "weed". Can we have a close-up pic of the flowers?

    You have two plants there. I think the one with the bigger leaves looks like a nightshade and the smaller one at the back could be a Goosefoot, or a Chenopodium. But I am not sure about either of them.  I think you need to see the flowers for the bigger one.

    Agree with @Asarum It's hard to tell those 2 different plants one from the other, and to tell which of the two the flowers belong to.
    Could you take them apart and post 2 distinct photos, one for each plant, including foliage and flowers (if any).
    I agree that one of them looks like Chenopodium.
    IMHO they both look like "weeds", no need to keep them unless you find them particularly attractive. ;)

    Thank you for your responses.  I have posted another couple of photos for information and agree that the tall weedy one is Chenopodium.  If you can identify the other plant that would be helpful. Both came out of a seed packet labelled as Nemesia.  I certainly won’t be keeping them though.
