Carex Buchananii - does it need pruning?

We have some Carex Buchananii in our garden and some of the 'leaves' are laying on the ground and have become a bit of a trip hazard! They don't look dead, but should these be pruned off? The plants are looking really well otherwise.. any advice would be appeciated.

When I grew these plants, they did not ever need pruning, just a light comb though to get rid of any dead leaves. If you plant them in the ground, the leaves can 'lie' around a bit. In my opinion, they look better in containers so they can drape over. Make sure they get enough water. Even though their appearance make them look drought tolerant, they do need moist soil.
