We have quite a few roses in our garden in Oxfordshire but this year all the leaves on the roses have turned brown and very brittle, to the point that at least one has been totally defoliated. None of the other herbaceous plants in the garden have been affected. I've never seen anything like this. We have fed them with David Austin rose food and looked after them as we do every year. Can anyone suggest a reason for this problem and perhaps how to deal with it? Thanks in advance
it is fungal Disease , reason is fluctuation of temperature , spray with anti fungal spray before spray remove or cut the effected area of the plant
Mike, we don't use chemicals in our garden. We use good quality feed (David Austin rood food) and nothing else. So I don't think it's a chemical problem unless something has blown in from the fields around us.
Thank you for yor reply. This sadly is a problem. Folk post on forums such as this and ask questions and often add a photo. This really is great. However we have to keep in mind that. Engaging on line is so different from face to face chat.
That old saying. A picture speaks so many stories. This applies to gardening and plant problems. If I may. Here on GW, there are so many gardeners, professional and amateure. All are giving of their best, from personal experience.
If I may. Please don't be mis-guided by that saying. Trust me. I'm a doctor. In my field. I qualified and gained my doctrate in the 1990's. Even for medics the world is changing so fast. I am ready to admit. NO. I don't know it all. Please bear with us all and if need be, continue the thread.
