Have a tonne of this is one place. Any idea on what this could be? Nearby plants include helenium, rudbeckia, Geum, foxglove and verbena bonariensis. Thanks.

I'd go with the verbena bonariensis
    Devon.

Thanks @B3 and @Hostafan1. Appreciate your help. I didn’t deadhead any last year till this spring. Mistake- the more I root around more I find these, in clusters. Time to take the hoe out!

Keep a few. I'd do it with my fingers rather than a hoe. They come out really easily.

That's why I wouldn't have it in my garden again. I moved 4 years ago and a seedling was in a pot I took with me. Now I have VB again.  :s.
Sounds like a disease  :D but.. The wildlife love it anyway.

Have you seen the price  the online  sellers are charging?. £1 is silly cheap.
It's amusing - sort of- to see garden centres charging for stuff you spend half your time trying to get rid of😕

Do they still have car boot sales? I thought everything was on ebay now. I stopped going when I started to notice the same junk on different stalls. I think they were selling stuff to each other.

Great idea. Thanks! I’ll pot them up and leave it at local allotments. They use the proceeds for charity. A way to get rid of unwanted plants/pots and feel good about it!
