Can Anyone Recommend Effective Allergy Relief?

Is it just me or is everyone being irritated by the intrusive allergy relief advert on this site?

I use Adblock plus so don't see any adverts at all.
  • Forgot to say.... Benadryl is rubbish for allergy relief. It makes it much worse.

I have suffered from an " unknown airborne allergy  " for at least 2 and a half years now and find that Loretadine (spelling) works for me.  One tablet a day, bought from the  supermarket. Used to be supplied by my GP, but not any longer.

I use ADblocker too and never see any ads. I use Clarityn which is brilliant.

I'm usually posting on an iPhone and I never get any ads ....... except for the very irritating Benadryl pop up that appears over the text boxes Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Start with Loratidine 10mg one a day. If that is not sufficient, it depends on the symptoms. If it is mainly your eyes Otrivine Antistin eye drops are good. Opticrom (sodium cromoglycate) are preventative and OK for use through the summer, but the Otrivine Antistin are quicker acting. If mainly your nose is blocked then a Beconase or Flixonase nasal spray.   Failing that, stay inside with windows closed and get one of those very expensive fans with a HEPA filter in it.  Drying sheets on a line to get coated with pollen again is not a good idea. This is one area where using the electric dryer is better. Vacuum around the bed and the mattress with a good vacuum, again with a HEPA filter.
I am assuming hay fever allergy.

For food allergies, avoid the offending item, and have antihistamines and epipens available at all times.

For skin allergies, hydrocortisone or other steroid cream plus an antihistamine.
