Hibiscus with different coloured flowers

sueborg5sueborg5 Posts: 1
Both these flowers grew at the same time on the same plant.  Is it usual to have different-coloured flowers on the same plant? The hibiscus originally belonged to my father who died in 2007, and he had kept it for at least 10 years. I don’t remember ever seeing two colours on it before. The flowers are usually peach coloured, but I notice that another red flower is appearing now.

Mine is an old plant too and in Belgium it had bright golden yellow flowers with a deep red heart.   Now we've move here where it is generally warmer the flowers change colour to a warmer sunset glow so it could be heat.   I also found that during the heatwave in May my pale yellow Malvern Hills rose turned pink as it faded.  Never did that in Belgium.
