    @Dovefromabove you are right laying the astro turf properly is very tricky it needs stretching and pinning to get it right. Actually just like laying a carpet which I'd say (as a specialist in interior modifications of houses) is a skilled job and not for diyers 🤣.

    Well yes... I didn’t explain that very well did I ? 😂 
    The final laying is a bit like laying a carpet ... but what I meant was, you can take up an old carpet and put a new one down, maybe with new underlay; but you can’t kill off a lawn and then lay artificial turf on the soil without a great deal of preparation work. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
