I did wonder about that @Silver Surfer as they do like a damp soil but all mine are far taller, both flower stems and foliage. The easy way to tell would be to dig it up carefully in autumn or spring and check the roots. Fressia are definitely bulbs whereas hemerocallis have thick fleshy roots with some thicker bulbous bits and they do flower better if divided every 3 years or so.
Like most plants there are short ones and tall ones. Hemerocallis Double Cutie just 12 " tall.
