Dead wood on my Acer

I have an Acer growing in a pot and wondered if it’s safe to remove dead wood while it’s in leaf?

Yes.  I find there's always a bit of dieback after winter but wait till it's in leaf to cut back the dead bits.

  • Thank you, I was worried I may have damaged it.

No.  Just cut back the dead bits to the nearest live shoot or bud and it should be fine.
