Name of Rose

Can anyone help identify this rose for me? I bought it believing it would be a yellow rose called ‘Sunshine Abundance’ but it flowered and is obviously red so wanted to know what variety it is or the name of it please.

Only got it from Homebase, was labelled ‘sunshine abundance’. It’s the only one I have that I don’t know the name of.

..the only thing you can do is check with the Homebase site and see if they sell a red rose like that... otherwise there's no way of i.d. a red rose from your photo... there are hundreds just like that, it's impossible..

..I've just had a look and here is a link to their roses.. one is simply called 'climbing red rose', so there's no way anybody can say what that is... as we don't know where they got it from, could be anywhere..
Harkness roses have some in the Abundance range, which are sold by Homebase including a Velvet Abundance which is red, but it is scented, and you said yours is not.. it's also only a short rose about 2-3 feet tall.. if your rose is that height, and you can detect scent, then it might be that one..  sorry I can't help any further..

..when trying to i.d. obscure roses, one needs a wealth of information including many and varied photos of the rose, from all angles, as a mature bush, lots of buds and blooms, all sorts of things... a single bloom doesn't reveal anything much I'm afraid, unless it's a very well known variety... best of luck with your lovely red rose..

Thank you for your help. I did check the hombase website and saw the climbing red rose without a name. 😕
It’s now in it’s second season and has already reached the top of the fence with the canes trained horizontally.
Homebase did offer a refund as it wasn’t what we expected and it’s a shame it has no fragrance but it’s still lovely nonetheless! Just would have been interesting to know which variety it was.
It fades to a lovely hot pink colour too which I love.
    Thanks again anyway! 😊

I need some advice please. About ten or so years ago, I planted one of the Flower Carpet series, a strong deep pink one, in a difficult south facing steep bed with the hope that it would cover the slope.  It's always been a very good 'doer' but this year has surpassed itself and is now 6 ft tall. I don't feed or water it much and hack it back occasionally. I really would like it to be shorter as it has such huge flower trusses on long stems it has today collapsed over a nearby box bush. Because of it's position, staking would be difficult - what shall I do?

...Hi again... I think you may be in luck... when you mentioned that the rose fades to a lovely hot pink, this rang a bell with me..
..I'd say your rose is 'Paul's Scarlet Climber'... which I suspect is commonly sold as 'climbing red rose'... it's very popular and very common..

...see if your rose looks something like this one, next year..

That’s funny as when I carried on looking I came across this rose and thought it could be that one! Definitely looks like it could be as last year we had clusters of roses which ‘Paul’s Scarlet’ does and also has light to no fragrance too. Thank you for all your help!

This is a photo from last year.
