@Jacquimcmahon yes it works very well, it’s one of those sold for a bird bath and on a sunny day it’s lovely. There are 3 little fishes in the pond and it’s just nice to have water in the garden.
Hi Debs what fish do you have and are they ok in such a small pond?  I’m about to put in a small container pond myself but hadn’t considered that fish would be a possibility!

Hi, I had 2 goldfish in water feature at my allotment and noticed them spawning one day so brought home weed with eggs on and little baby fish duly appeared. There is a plastic flowerpot with holes cut into it in the feature underneath the decorative log so they have somewhere to hide. I only glimpse them occasionally but the little solar fountain keeps the water clear and 2 years on they are doing well although only very small.

Just to say the water feature at the allotment is just a large round plastic tub, again with a solar fountain and the original 2 goldfish are flourishing in there.

Love the Blagdon ponds but not been able to get a supplier hare in France I really fancy one of the hexagonal ones.

I have a raised fibreglass preformed pond with a stone surround.Has a solar fountain and holds about a dozen goldfish.Topped with wide stones so lovely to sit on in the summer.

Also have 2 tubs in the ground slightly raised as my wildlife pond.

There was a lovely raised pond at a nursery direct off the Thames near the bottom of Richmond Hill.  They had a thick wire panel just below the surface of the water.. large enough for gold fish to swim up to the surface.. but something to catch a child.  You didn't really notice the wire unless you looked in.  Probably hinged or something for maintenance.

You can get those safety grids to guard against the dangers of drowning in garden ponds.

Buy a second hand glass-top dining table on ebay, you can get one super cheap. They're tough enough to sit on and light enough for two adults to pick up. Remove the glass and fix it in place atop the pond with a gap smaller than the childs head. This way you can look inside and remove it when you want. I did this to cover up a raised bed I built in the spring.

    Here's a suitable one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/glass-dining-table-Italian/293645400446?hash=item445ea1397e:g:q5YAAOSwDjhfAdAy

Looks great! Did you make this from scratch or get a kit?
