Is it too late to cut back ' The Bride'?

GillarooGillaroo Posts: 17
Hi there, I'm late to cut back my exochorda or pearlbush / the bride.  I'm just wondering if it's too late in the year to cut it back now? Will I be chopping off next years flowers? Is it necessary to cut it back to encourage next year's flowering. It's been planted a few years. Any advice would be welcome.

Pruning of Exochorda should be done right after flowering, cut the flowered stems back by half.

Yes, I just didn't get around to it after they flowered ☺️. So will do that now. I was wondering if it was better to cut back late or not at all .
