This was bought in a 10cm/4" pot form Beth Chatto's garden in 2016.  I've long since lost the label but know it likes shade so finally planted it out in my new shady Japanese maple bed and it has grown well over 60cm/2' in just a couple of weeks and is about to flower.

Any ideas?   Thanks in advance.

Since you chaps were clearly stumped I eventually had the bright idea of asking Beth Chatto Nursery and Gardens if they could identify for it me.  They have duly replied - great service.

I'm going to have to move it as it's going to get bigger.   And bigger.   Fortunately I have just the spot further along the ruin.

    Ooh! Excellent.
Thank you reporting back with the name Fagopyrum didotrys
I thought it was Polygonaceae...but had no luck finding it.
Love the shape of the leaves.

Me too and the colour of the stems and the flowers turn out to be an added bonus.
