Matthiola incana seeds and how / when to gather them

I was given a couple of plants earlier this year and they’ve blossomed into glorious specimens, smothered in cerise flowers.
I’d love to grow them from seed myself, next year, and dot them around the garden (couldn’t get any more this year, due to the pandemic affecting so many bedding plant suppliers), but I’ve never gathered seed from matthiola and want to get it right.
Are the seed pods the tiny things at the end of the long, thin stems?
Should I pick them off now, or wait until later in the summer?
