Strange lumps in garden

I've woke up this morning and discovered these strange lumps of loose soil in our garden. I know they're a bit small to be mole holes maybe some sort of insect?, does anyone know what it could be it's baffling me? Thanks so much

    Good morning Michelle and welcome to the Forum. Its hard to judge the size of your 'strange lump' from the picture but if its only small then my betting is that its ants.
    A coin placed alongside the lump would give us a rough idea of sizing.

    Thanks so much for replying both of you and thanks for the welcome. I suppose it could be ants, there is quite a few of these in the garden, they've been very busy overnight!

    Thank you for solving my mystery this morning, I've never come across this before. I'm quite a newbie at gardening so I'm thinking this forum will come in very handy in the future! Thanks again for replying and helping 😊

    Sorry to jump in but I too have lots of these on my lawn at the moment. Should we just leave them or brush off?

    I'm glad someone else has these little pests too 😂 I've just left mine, it's been so wet anyway to do anything they've washed away a little. I'm not sure it's the right thing to do but not much I can do in this awful weather.

    You can just brush them away if you wish but the ants may just rebuild them.
