Can anyone identify this rose for me? The flower buds are apricot/yellow, opening to white then going over with a blush. Slightly fragrant. It's huge and covers a garage so I presume it is a rambler.
A friend asked me the name years ago.... I posted it on the forums for help. I was very grateful to wiseowl who id it for me. I just happened to recognise yours and remembered wiseowls id. I thought it was such a pretty and unusual rose.
The excellent pics on Highdown garden site really help...showing everything to help with the id.
An easy way to i.d. it as 'Wedding Day', which it is as Silver Surfer said, is to note the mucronate [pointed] tip at the apex of each petal... of the ramblers in this colour, only Wedding Day has that feature, and it shows on each and every petal... in your photo, which I've enlarged a section below, I've highlighted a couple of those tips... it shows less on faded blooms, and your rose is going over a touch... the glossy foliage is another indicator, but this is why it's so important to take close ups of rose blooms, as well as long distance shots..
