Friend or foe?

Spotted this alongside my Astilbes. Going by the amount of growth it's quickly put on I'm thinking it maybe a bit of a thug that I need to remove? There again it could be something that's self seeded that I don't recognise. Any ideas please?

    Looks a little like Elder ; if not wanted then discard .

    I agree with @Paul B3
    that looks like the native Common Elder Sambucus Nigra. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
