I'll have a look online to see if I can find any plug plants, thanks for all the help!

Hi @Sabina13 It's not too late to sow kohl rabi seeds as they are very fast growing.  I would recommend a new variety called 'Kossak' which grows much larger and doesn't get woody and I also grow the old standard 'Purple Vienna'. :)

Hahaha I can see why you'd think I might want to sow kohl rabi seeds with the tangent this thread took bob.

I've never really thought about kohl rabi. I dont like any veg that isnt sweet (oh dear). I can only tolerate red cabbage and baby beets because my turkish friends have had me sample such veg in salads dripping with vinigar and lemon juice (I think - never actually asked for a recipe) but it takes away the actual taste of the vegetable

Cucamelons on the other hand; which I hadnt ever tasted until very recently, have the cool tang/bite I like, and its one that's fun to look at.

Maybe I'll taste kohl rabi some day!

Kohlrabi is definitely for eating raw, grated and dressed.  Love it, but then we do eat and like plenty of vegetables tho I draw the line at swede and white asparagus.

Cucamelons?  less flavour than either cucumber or melon so utter waste of space and water to grow.

Cucamelons are starting to come through. I had to grab a few for myself for a G&T before the kids eat them all.
