I planted three silverbirch jacqmanii 20 years ago into our large new garden and it is only now that the beautiful white bark and shape of tree can be really appreciated. They are almost as tall as the house. I am over 70 now and personally would not want to wait 20 years to see the end result! It is a lovely idea giving a living present but as we are living in ‘uncertain times’ I think I would prefer a present that I could enjoy now. Sorry if that last bit sounds a bit depressing. If you do go for the silver birch, I have found over the years that not many plants like growing beneath it.

It's certainly who I'd go to to buy birch or alder trees
