I've got these in various places in the garden. Are they weeds?

Yes, looks like the annual euphorbia weed know as Petty Spurge (Euphorbia peplus.)
They pull-up easily but like all euphorbias, avoid getting any of the milky sap on your skin.

Ah, thanks so much, Bob. That's really helpful. I will definitely put gloves on when pulling the rest up now!
