What's wrong with our laurels?
Hi, over the last year or so we have noticed that the laurels protecting us from a busy road are starting to look very sorry for themselves. They seem to be getting rather sparse, with leaves turning yellow and branches looking bare. Also there is some black sap (that's what it looks like and it's sticky) coming from some of the branches. I've posted some photos (although I didn't really know what to take photos of other than the obvious). There doesn't seem to be anything growing on or eating the plants. Also this started at one side of the row and is spreading right across. I need to know if we are going to lose them as they are currently our only barrier to the very busy main road. Any advice would be gratefully received!
PS - one person has suggested bacterial shot hole, however when I checked the leaves they are not full of holes so not sure if that would rule it out?
Thank you in advance!
