Erecting a fence in front of Leylandii - Advice Needed!

The trimming will remain as it was. It just means I’ll have a little less to trim in my garden.

Trimmings from my side and the top will be dealt with by me.

I trim for the neighbour to the left and the ones on the right do their side

There was a gap of about a foot along the bottom of most of the hedge and I cut it back to the brown as high as the new fence so it should only grow a little at the bottom if at all.

Were you going to do a pond @TheGreenMan, or have I mixed you up with someone else?
I'd say the hedge trimmings will largely fall into your garden, and anything that doesn't will just get absorbed by the hedge.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Hi @Fairygirl

Yes I am going to add a pond. I was waiting for this to be done (we booked it in three months ago!).

Now that it’s all finished I can start to plot my pond area….

I would also like a bigger lawn and a perennials patch.

Better get my thinking cap on.

Nice time of year for planning and maybe getting started if you're fingers are itching... ;)

    That's a very good maintenance plan @TheGreenMan 👍👏
It was a LOT of money to get rid of it and put a fence either side (there’s one at the back already behind it). This was the cheaper option (although still a lot) plus I like the green wall it creates.

Oh they are itching. Once the new trellis has been added to the decking on Thursday I may grab the mattock and start digging.
