Plant ID please

Can anyone help ID this overgrown shrub please? It is an absolute magnet for bees and is in my daughter's garden. She inherited it when she moved in. I would like to take cuttings of it but not sure when to do this. Also I have looked all through my plant encyclopaedia and am totally unsure what it is. It has a strange smell, obviously irresistible to bees, but not particularly attractive. Any help would be most welcome. Thanks

Interesting looking shrub. Can't see the flowers well so guessing a bit. Looks a bit like a Pieris Japonica.

Thanks for your help so far. The shrub does not have thorns and I am posting a few more close ups of the flowers and leaves to see if that helps. We don't know if these flowers go to berries later, looks like they might. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks again.
