Albertine Climbing Rose

I have an albertine climbing rose and its quite established, but this year I've noticed lots of issues with the leaves.

The ones that look like healthy green leaves from a distance have either got tiny orange spots on them front and reverse, or are full of holes.

The other leaves have gone yellow and brown.

Its a few years old and we'd hate to lose it.

I've included some photos here if anyone might be able to help diagnose any problems.

Thank you.

Can we see the base of the plant and the whole plant if it's not too big?

Could be black spot or another virus, could be lack of nutrition or water logging or too dry. Tiny orange spots could be rust. The holes are probably because a pest insect was hungry. I would spray the rose with Rose Clear and give it some rose fertiliser and water it, unless it's already too wet. If the rose has been very dry it wouldn't be able to absorb fertiliser. Roses tend to get ill when they are hungry and thirsty. Remove all the diseased leaves but don't put them on the compost heap.

I see at least three separate issues with your rose. The larger holes are some kind of caterpillars or sawfly larvae damage. The tiny green dots are either spider mites or leafhoppers. Then there are some fungal issues (probably rust if it is on the underside too) and possibly also weather damage and lack of water or nutrients (yellow leaves).
You can spray if you want. If you prefer an organic approach, you can handpick the pests and the worst affected leaves.
In any case, give it a lot of water. A rose like this should outgrow similar problems.
