This wide-leafed plant has come up between my newly planted lavender. Is this a weed?
Bottom slightly-off-centre is a bellis plant which never thrived.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Does the stem look like it's going to be woody? It looks like it may be a goat willow seedling.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I ask the same question as B3?  But it looks to me a bit like a Cornus or dogwood seedling.

You could well be right @Asarum😊 . I ought to know. My garden is plagued with them!

Thanks @B3 and @Asarum. Yes, the stem is stiff; I've removed it now.
