  I think the shrub is a Philadelphus and the second pic could be a foxglove.

  I like "Virginal" which has double white flowers and a wonderful scent. It's quite tall.

  Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

  I once bought that cultivar from a well-known supplier.  A couple of years later it flowered and gave a wonderful display.. Except it was actually a deutzia!

  A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
