Hi all, can someone tell me what's happening with the brocolli, certainly doesn't look like it did last year, this is the 1st showing of any, just didn't look right to me

Should’ve been picked and eaten a while ago ... pick it now and gave it with your Sunday roast tomorrow.

Probably didn't form a tidy head due to heat and low water.  Cut off the top head and enjoy some smaller bunches as it sends out side shoots.

  • I thought that may be the case, olnillnchop it off and see how it goes, thank you for taking the time to reply

  • It didn't form what I would describe as the normal head which is why I was surprised, it came straight out like pictured

It's bolted early due to one stress or another, and yes when they do that they produce a very open head, still tastes ok and the secondary heads are normally good.
