Hi All,

First post so please be gentle :smiley:

Please can you help me identify this? 

I’ve had a google but struggled to find anything based on my random descriptions.



It’s probably about 12ft or more at the moment. I have no idea how to look after it but have trimmed the lower stems clean. I think it might need thinning and also reducing in height but didn’t want to butcher it before I’d done some homework.

Any help greatly appreciated

    Are the leaves arranged in opposite pairs?  It's hard to see from the photos.  If so, could it be a philadelphus?  Any flowers?
    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    I’d forgotten about it flowering but just showed my wife an internet picture of philadelphus flowers and she said those are the ones  :smile:
