Red robin!

Help I have been dug up a big selection of red robin plants there about 4 foot in height and I got most of the roots out with them I have planted them in my garden with plenty of compost I have taken most of the foliage off to help the roots. Should I take some of the height off also? The picture is before I took the foliage off.

Do you mean you have moved the plants?

I think they would benefit from cutting back. Unless it rains hard for the next three or four weeks, they'll struggle to maintain that foliage.
Be prepared for a lot of it to drop off anyway.
They can be very hit and miss too, depending on where you live, and what the conditions are like.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I have cut them right back to 2 foot tall and taken 95% of the foliage off also.

They still need some foliage left on them.
    Cross your fingers...
