My solanum crispin glasnevin is being attacked - Help!

My vigerous 5 year old Solanum (final photo shows it earlier this year) has developed a stunted stripped problem that only affects the flowers (leaves untouched), starting at the left side of the plant & seems to be moving along the whole plant within the last 2 weeks.
It leaves bare stumps where the fruits should be developing after the flower has died.

It started last year in a small area but is much worse this year.  Plant has been well watered & fed, on a south facing sheltered wall in Suffolk.

I have noticed some small beige spots (like small sesame seeds) & some v pale green aphids on the flowers & on some of the undamaged leaves.
No sign of the leaves "curling" and no bites taken out of the leaves at all, just all the flowers have shrivelled/gone, leaving a bare stump.

I am desperate for a control, as it is such a much loved feature in our garden!  Can anyone suggest what to do (prune off affected branches & burn, spray, leave....?)
Many thanks,   Fiona

I can't see the flower one properly, but I think it's most likely aphids that have got to your flowers. They tend to attack the tender new growth, such as flower buds etc. The easiest way to deal with it is to cut out all the excess growth that has already flowered. Your shrub is established, so hopefully, there should be a second flush when you prune back now.
