Pot-plant resistant to dog wee!

Does anyone have any advice on a plant I can grow in a pot in full sun that won't mind (too much) having my big dog wee on it every morning? The pot is about 40cm high. I don't want a standard of any kind, preferably something bushier (like a small shrub). Other than that I don't mind really mind what other characteristics it has as long as it doesn't die! Many thanks.

Either move the pot or do something about the dog. I would move the pot and spray it with something pungent. Once the dog has gone elsewhere and forgotten about it,you could replace and plant up the pot.

My in-ground hollyhocks do pretty well with daily dog wee.. the leaves just sort of direct the urine away from the roots.  Could you pile up something like packing peanuts or other material that won't bother the stem/trunk of whatever you plant.. and then cover it with black plastic so the wee runs off the pot away from the plant?  Sort of like making a tent?  But with your plant sticking out of the middle center?  Something bushy will soon cover the plastic.  You'll need to rig some sort of pipe to get water to the soil, and the whole thing would be a bother.

Alternatively, you could buy a tall enough plant stand that the wee only hits the side of the pot and doesn't make it in to the soil.   :)

I have an evergreen azalea that has been weed on several times a day for nearly 5 years and it shows no signs of being remotely bothered.  Would need a big pot and ericaceous compost/acidic soil.

(To clarify, the dogs wee on it, not me)

I think a number of plants will tolerate it, but not if it's concentrated into the potting soil.. especially if the soil is dry.
