Geums

Thank you to those that offered advice.  Think I will give up on the geum and not bother unless I can get some seeds as it will be a cheap way of getting one rather than pay a lot at a garden centre. Nicola Jones

Not all Geums are like that, I’ve grown both Mrs Bradshaw and Lady Stratheden from seed and they have quite a loose growth habit. They are best planted in the middle of a border and left to mingle with other plants. I have a Totally Tangerine one that is completely different to that. It’s a taller more busy plant and has much more impact, I love it!

That’s if you like the orange colour😊
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

  • Bright Star.  I bought the geum because I saw one in a friend's garden.  Where do I get geum seeds from? Thanks for your help :)

Seems a shame to give up on them. I love geums, mine are into their 4th year flowering now. Have you tried secret gardening club? They often have geums for £2 - £3.

You could try putting a request for geum seeds on the swop thread (you don't need to have anything to swop).  :)
