Does anyone know what this is?

Noticed these coming up the other day and was wondering if they are edible? They smell like a dressed salad :) all the leaves are from the same plant. This is my first post so i apologise if this isnt the correct place for this question. Thank you.

    I'm sorry, I don't know what it is, although I have seen it before in the wild. It might be giant hogweed or ragwort perhaps?  I certainly wouldn't eat it unless an expert tells you it's safe.

    We do get the small hogweed out the back door but Ive never noticed what they look like when they are this young and I have never smelled this fresh smell from them before. Its a mystery for now and it wont be on my plate until I know for sure.

    I think it is Mugwort or Artemisia vulgaris. I’ve never tried eating it.

    I agree ........... I do quite a bit of foraging but I've never known anyone to forage for that ... I wouldn't eat it

    Well, not sure but could it be Lovage? Dove is right, as ever, if in doubt don't eat,

    No definitely not Lovage. 

    It is Artemisia vulgaris.

    I agree its 100% Artemisia Vulgaris.

    Indeed. Mugwort possesses mild psychoactive effects (though no where near as much as Wormwoood, Artemisia Absinthium) as well as being a nervine, digestive carminative, anti-parasitic and emmenagogue. She can help with sleeplessness, improving dreams, nerve pain, anxiety, depression and women's issues.
