What has happened to aliums?

  Can anyone tell me why the aliums have grown like the picture,  no flowers at all this year. This is only the 2nd year of planting & flowered well last year.  Thank you.

  Some alliums have flower buds like that. Did you notice the buds last year?

  They look like Allium little drummer. Mine are currently taller than me with buds like that. They open up after all the other alliums have finished.  I thought the flowers would be huge, but sadly only about 8 cm across. Good for the back of a border.

  Thank you for replying,  I will wait & see what happens,  just don't remember them looking like that last year!
